Bull Horn Testing

Here is the 12 volt bull horn connected to a battery charger. It sound a little throaty compared to the 6 volt bull horn, might be because the battery charger have enough current output.

The Lone Bed Board

Put the first bed board on today. Each end is retained by three 3" stainless steel screws. These screws will be under the angle iron when installed. The rest of the joists are retain the bed board by the Grabber screws from underneath so there will be no screw heads exposed on the surface of the bed.

New Bed Substructure Installed

 Completed substructure

I cut the bottom out of a vinyl gutter and used that to isolate the MCA treated 4x4s from the frame. Here, I heated the vinyl and used a routed 4x4 to mold the vinyl around the rivets and bolt the protrude on the top of the frame.

I used a routed piece of 4x4 to form the bumps in the vinyl

New Bed Started

This is the substructure made of 4x4s. MCA treated SYP. Frame runners are two 4x4s stacked. Joists are six 4x4s. Side 4x4s are notched with the joists. All attached together with 1/2" x 6" SS lag bolts.

This how the Deck Grabber goes on. It screws to the joists and then is screwed to the deck boards when they are installed.

Here is a mock-up of a deck board and the angle iron edge. Deck board will actually go all the way to the edge of substructure. 3/8" x 6" flat head SS bolts will attach all the layers together; substructure side boards, substructure joists, deck boards, and angle iron.
